Before some get disappointed: Restricted area!, Breukelen

Pavlik_NL Says:  Sadly enough most of the campus-terrains are restricted area for non-students. Nijenrode University holds the lands surrounding the castle in property and only lets students have the privilige to roam the park, castlelanes etc. From the river "Vecht" and the road that is...

Hotel / motel Breukelen: a large Chinese

Driving to Breukelen will almost be impossible without seeing this monstrous building. It is situated right besides the A2-freeway running from Utrecht to Amsterdam. This enormous Chinees complex belongs to the Van der Valk-hotel/motelgroup and houses thus a place to stay as well a restaurant. Guess what's the main dish here ... right: Chinese!

The peaceful green surroundings of the

Breukelen is situated along the freeway A2 that is going from Utrecht to Amsterdam. The exit is very clear and from there you drive directly into the village.
Breukelen also has a small trainstation, where stoptrains hold to let passengers in and out.
Most special will be to go to Breukelen by boat as you will have the joy of using the "Vecht" as an entrance lane. In Breukelen, as well as surrounding towns, one can take a sightseeing boat tour, but also rent canoes or rowing boats.

ATLC Says:  This designy shop was opened in December 2007. Very attractive shop with luxury fish produce that keep in mind that some fish should not be eaten too much (for fear of extinction). I do hope this shop will have success. It puts the shopping experience in Breukelen a level...

Market

Market, Breukelen

Cedo Nulli = I serve no master

On top of the entrance gateway, just behind the bridge it says with carved in stone letters: Cedo Nulli. This is the slogan of the Nijenrode University as well as the students that successfully finish this school. Freely translated it means something like "nothing goes over me" or more clear: "I serve no master!" ... Well, talking about a strong motto!
