Luggage and bags:
Bring along a suitcase.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear:
Dress warm in winter, autumn and even in spring sometimes. Dress light in summer, but always bring a coat, long trousers, sweater and umbrella with you. You never know when it get a bit colder or when it starts raining (though the dutch have a sense for it and the weatherforecast often predicts the right weather).
Photo Equipment:
It's all there. Film developping is quickly here, you can get everything (your taken pictures) developed and printed within the hour.
Miscellaneous:
On the picture from the left to the right: VT-members Nighthawk (Roelien), Xowe (Yvonne), Broekie (Gerard) and Sim1 (Simone) in a shoppingstreet of Utrecht.
We all met together with other VT-members in Utrecht. For the full story and all pictures please take a look in the TRAVELLOGUE on this page.
Photo Equipment:
Yes... everyone brings their camera... you really need it!!! So don't forget to take it with you!
This is nighthawk taking a picture of me :-)
Hmmm, my camerawork is not so good :-(( There is a sunbeam going right through this picture, oops.
Luggage and bags:
Yes.... taking photos is not always an easy job, hahaha. Here is Roelien (Nighthawk) demonstrating what is the best way to take a group pictures ;-)
Look at the details in this photo though, hahaha, you can see two cameras laying on the ground in front of her :-)) Lots of photos were taken this day!
Luggage and bags:
You will be walking a lot, be sure you can manage this luggage. I had a carryon size bag, a smaller bag that attached to the top, and I purchase a big shoulder bag which was invaluable. Be sure the wheels are in good shape, the streets are all brick.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear:
It WILL rain. Shoes should be comfortable, but if you are buying new clothes for the trip, DON"T. Bring what you cannot live without and buy when you get there, Shopping is a lot of fun, the clothes are fabulous and less expensive. Plus you will be right in style.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies:
Leave em. Buy when you get there. They have everything and it is close by. I found everything I needed because I left my cosmetic bag at home. Clinique, Nivea and Pantene.
Photo Equipment:
Bring a good camera. Mine sucked and I am sick about it. Film is a little expensive, but available everywhere. I got most of my pics on disk for around $10 each. They have one hour, it is more expensive.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear:
Umbrella, of course. In the summer it is very hot and humid. Layers are best, it can get cool quickly.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear:
In the winter, the weather is chilly (0 C to 2 C) and windy (much colder). I packed a fleece shell jacket, gloves and scarf (but I purchased additional scarves). Cobblestones are difficult to walk on long-term, so bring good walking shoes or boots (and insoles).
Toiletries and Medical Supplies:
Face and skin tends to get wind-beaten, so bring extra good face and hand creams.
Photo Equipment:
Bring your camera!!!
This is Sandravdp, taking pictures, one of many. Looking forward to your photos Sandra!!! I hope you will put them on VT soon.
Luggage and bags:
Sandra again :-))
It was more like a camera war out there, hahaha, trying who could make the most pictures of the other, LOL
Luggage and bags:
Oops.... this is me! Thanks Roelien (Nighthawk) for letting me use this photo.
Hahaha, I think I made my point by now : bring your camera!!!!!
