One of the biggest bookstores in The Netherlands! No matter what your interest is, they have a book for you. And not only in Dutch. They have a nice collection of art books, lots of travel guides etc. as well as lots of scientific titles.
Bert's Bierhuis sells ca. 800 different beers. That includes most beers from The Netherlands, many from Belgium but also a nice choice of beers from other countries. Plus: glasses, books, games, T-shirst etc.
A few beers are made especially for the shop. One of these is Dom Blondje.
Once every half year, there is a huge record fair in the “jaarbeurs”. The jaarbeurs is situated right across the main train station. This fair is the biggest of it’s kind in the world. It is a heaven for all record collectors. You can find limited editions, deleted items, promo’s, bootlegs and merchandising.
What to buy: All kinds of collectors items.
God only knows how many b'zillions of beers this place has!!
This place does not open until 10 AM, so be sure to grab your goodies the previous evening if you have an early flight home!

On Wed & Sat the street market out in front of the Hogh Catherine will gladly sell ya a bunch of deliscious Deutch cheese to fly home with. Be sure to ask for tasters, as the vendors are more than happy to introduce you to their products!
What to buy: "Sacht Belegan" is soft, mild, and deleriously rich. "Belegan" is a bit sharper and firmer. "Oud" (literally "old") is quite sharp, firm, and a good keeper. The sharper the cheese is, the more stable it is for long-term storage.
What to pay: I believe we were spending the equiv of $3.00-$4.50 USA per pound
The Kinderboekhandel is a shop with children's books only.

The St Janskerkhof Saturday Market offers a wide variety of plants and flowers.
From all over Holland the merchandise is brought in.

Hinderickx & Winderickx is a shop with mostly (semi-) antique books; the majority being by Dutch writers. There are some bins with mostly classical records and some comedy/general ones.
What to buy: Books.
Boudisque is one of the few CD-shops with a big Jazz section.
2010 Update: The place is empty and up for sale.
You find the most fascinating flowers at the flowershops. I was so upset with myself that I did not pack my plastic vase so that I could put flowers in our room.
I loved the clog slippers and actually bought a pair for my mother. The retail between 12.00 and 14.50 euro. Makes for a lovely gift.
Everywhere you will find some delft to take back home with you.
