Zeist is well known for its shopping opportunities. There is the Slotlaan with the long and broad sidewalk, but also Hogeweg, Voorheuvel ans Steynlaan.
2 till 4 hrs. shopping is possible here and more when you choose to sit on one of the teraces.
What to buy: Nothing particular.
Its just a nice mix of everything you will find in an average Dutch town of 50000 to 100000 inhabitants. Its the space and green surroundings that make the difference.

Any VT member visiting Zeist can get a short guided tour in the townhall of Zeist built in 1917. Especially the meetingroom of the city council cq. members of local parliament is a nice mix of old and new. Just ask for mr. Scheffer and they will call me.

A quiet neighboorhood.
Not much to do. A shopping center with 13 shops, a church. A few schools and 15000 people living there. The nicest thing - for us- is the nature. From our garden we have a view one some meadows an a little wood.
Rabbits, hare, birds, pheasants and deer that is what we sometimes see. And a lot of luftballoons. People who know Zeist very good must me able to point out where i live, when they have a look on the pic.

From Zeist the FC Utrecht stadium can be reached in 25 min (bike) or 20 min (car). FC Utrecht plays their games every two weeks at 14.30 on sundays. They are about in the 6 - 8 rank in the Dutch prime division (after Ajax, Feijenoord. PSV, AZ, Twente, Roda JC).
Also the Amsterdam Arena (Ajax) has an easy connection (30 min drive). The best thing however is to take bus and the train (35 min. from Driebergen Zeist train station).
