It feels as if it is a bazar!
You can walk around and find: books, books, books (also in foreign languages, which is normal here in The Netherlands) but also a music department with lots of wonderful CDs, a pretty collection of special greeting cards for birthdays and other special days, a treasure trove filled with the most lovely books for children, of course there are many, many (glossy)magazines, computergames and all kinds of things for your computer and last but not least a lovely BRASSERIE where it is a pleasure to sit, eat and drink, talk and watch other visitors......
In this BRASSERIE is a special "room" where often are musicians.......
It is a special place which already has got 3 AWARDS, 1 for the best shop in THE NETHERLANDS, 1 for the most CREATIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP and 1 for the BEST DUTCH BOOKSELLER................respectively in 2002, 2001 and 2003.....
I wonder which AWARD will follow this year, 2004.....I shall let you know.

Situated at the start / end of DE LANGE DELFT, one of the streets of the pedestrians only area, it ask for a visit.
There is a terrace in spring and summer and part of Autumn (depending on the weather...) and the owners MICHELLE LAMBREGTSE & MARTIJN VAN ZELST have the nicest dishes for every guest, tired from walking / shopping / .........

There's an outside terras at both sides of the street and also on the first floor there are some tables.

Wonderfully situated at the Markt it also has plenty of space for a HUGE outdoor cafee where you will forget about time and clocks while sipping your drink, having your lunch or dinner while basking in the warm bright sunlight!
Making reservations is the best thing to do: we are a fine tourist destination here and isn't it awful not to be able to find a table where you can silence your rumbling stomah at ease??

I can strongly recommend this place, that is located in the very heart of my home town of Middelburg, to you!
Perfectly situated near DE KOORKERK and HET ABDIJ COMPLEX and it halso has a nice terrace under chestnut trees.............

While enjoying foor / drink there, inside or outside, you will be able to hear the carillion, a short tune every 15 minutes and a longer tune (we all know the tunes: christmas songs in December, nursery rhymes, Sinterklaas dongs the weeks before 5th December and more...) at each whole hour.
They have a lovely menu card and....lots of music.
Not only the place where the restaurant is is atmospheric: the JAZZ EETCAFé itself is also very atmospheric.

 BIRD'S EYE VIEW OF MIDDELBURG by eden_teuling
Despite wars and catastrophies it has retained its historical ambience.
Hundreds of imposing monuments in streets and untroubled squares bear witness to times gone by, as do the MEDIEVAL ABBEY with its LANGE JAN TOWER (which you can climb!!), the late-gothic TOWNHALL and the many simpler workshops and houses in de KUIPERSPOORT.
Of course none of this means that Middelburg still lives in the past, on the contrary!
We have lovely shopping streets, pedestrians only areas!, cosy pubs and dozens of street cafees. And in summer.......hundreds of cane chairs on squares and streets to bask in the sun....
AND ALL THIS IS IN WALKING DISTANCE OF THIS HOTEL.......
