Nice little restaurant where we had our dinner outside on the terrace.
Quick and friendly service.
Big portions, I could hardly finish the mixed grill with fries I had ordered. Quality AND quantity!
My girlfriend had a vegetarian pizza with mushrooms which was also very good.
The soup came with free bread and butter.
We spend about 20 euro per person, including several drinks.
We both would come back here without a hesitation!

We had dinner at this restaurant, outside on the terrace.
I had the schnitzel "De Vliegenier", which was prepared below average.
In contrast, the vegetarian wrap my girlfriend had was good.
Personally, I would not come back here but my girlfriend would.

On the market square with a fine view of the Town Hall, are many restaurants and heated terraces so that you can sit outside and enjoy a drink or a meal.
Favorite Dish: Zeeuwse Vissoep (Zeeland Fish soup) with crusty bread € 4,50.
Pistolet (French bread) with smoked salmon € 6,50.
Zeeuwse Appelaere (applejuice made of Zeeland apples) is a lovely 100% organic drink. € 1,80.

Deksels is the first Tapas restaurant in Middelburg.
It's located in an old house next to the modern contrast of the Geere Passage shops.
There's an outside terras at both sides of the street and also on the first floor there are some tables.

Favorite Dish: I tried the daily menu: 3 courses of 5 different tapas combinations.

This place is the ideal place to have lunch when you go to Middelburg for a day out. They have a wide range of simple but hearty dishes. AND: the service is really friendly. Everything is done with a smile and they do everything to make you happy. E.g.: My wife asked if they had tabasco because she likes her food spicy. They didn't have but the chef came directly to our table to bring a couple of sauces that could make her spaghetti spicy and more to her taste.

Directly beside the town hall this cafe (with a black marquis) looks very inviting. Especially with a lot of people sitting outside on its terrace. On the photo, the cafe is on the left side of the town hall.
Favorite Dish: Good fish soup (4 euro), tuna club sandwich (6,25 euro) and a french bread sandwich with goat's cheese, chorizo and honey (5 euro). Including drinks it came to less than 10 euro per person.

During summerseason there's a terrace outside where you can drink, eat and enjoy the sunshine untill the sun is gone...... It's one of my favorite places because of that sunshine late in the afternoon or early in the evening

I only had a lunch on this place but I liked it. Sometimes during the weekends there is live music inside and it can be very crowdy as we saw the last time when there was playing a blues band.
Favorite Dish: I had a clubsandwich with salmon....Yummie!

As you see all empty now but not for long,in less then an hour I was back and all the one hundreed odd sits were taken,people just sitting enjoying the sun and food or a drink maybe..

This place, located in the heart of my home town is called DE VRIENDSCHAP which means FRIENDSHIP and that is a fine name for this place.
Wonderfully situated at the Markt it also has plenty of space for a HUGE outdoor cafee where you will forget about time and clocks while sipping your drink, having your lunch or dinner while basking in the warm bright sunlight!
Favorite Dish: Making reservations is the best thing to do: we are a fine tourist destination here and isn't it awful not to be able to find a table where you can silence your rumbling stomah at ease??
