Miniatuur Walcheren has moved from its former site off Molenwater/Zuidsingel in Middelburg. All the miniatures have been removed and relocated to Pretpark 'Mini Mundi', at Podium, a children's entertainment park about 2 kilometres south of Middelburg Station.

All that remains at the original site are concrete plinths where the miniature buildings used to be, although the area is freely accessible,and the signs are that it might be developed as a public park.

Miniatuur Walcheren is the largest area in Mini Mundi, and comprises scale models of numerous buildings from around Zeeland. There is also a display area charting the history of Miniatuur Walcheren from its conception to the present day, with some interesting archive film.

Walcheren is the island on which Middelburg is situated.
Miniature Walcheren is a nice park for families with young children to see the highlights of the region.

The park is in the open air and in 2005 it is open until November 1st.

To be honest, the park looks a bit outdated but it is still nice to visit. Especially for kids! Just a short walk from the town center.

Oh, this is a lovely place to go, whether you are with or without children.

This place resembles MADURODAM in THE HAGUE / SCHEVENINGEN.

This themepark is situated near the city centre. Middelburg isn't that big so nothing ever is far away!

Since 1954 some 600 model-builders have been busy, very busy for you and me....
And the result is a wonderful place, worthy of a visit.

A wonderful garden, wonderful miniature buildings, bridges, mills, churches etc. can be admired.

MOST REMARKABLE are the specialities for children in the children's playground.....

This park show Middelburg on a scale of 1 : 20, which is formidable.

There is a 3 STOREYS high building which is an indoor playground!

During school holidays King Willem Walcheren and his court jester Wallie reign here................extra activities for the younger ones!

Of course there is an atmosphereic PANCAKE RESTAURANT with a terrace that offers the diners a lovely view!

Visiting this park you will hear the Carrilion of the Lange Jan...............

iN THE PHOTOGRAPH YOU SEE OUR FAMOUS TOWN HALL which is in miniature to be seen in MINIATUUR WALCHEREN!

If you have kids then this is a nice park to go to. Here you can see all the famous things from the province Zeeland in miniature. There is also a kids garden, restaurant, small train riding up and down etc. Our son only paid attention to the slide and swings, guess he was just a bit too young for it.
