Serooskerke is situated on the interior of the former island of Walcheren and so is surrounded by endless farmlands.
The best way to explore the countryside is by bicycle, as there are tight roads everywhere connecting Serooskerke downtown with the other villages and farms.
The skies are beautiful. In early summer it's lights from about 5.30am to 10.30pm. Both ends of the day are most enjoyable!
At various points along the roads, camera's are installed to maintain the speed limits and to film the offender's plate!
In Serooskerke centre the limit is 30 kph; outside the centre, but within the village limits it is 50 kph; on the country roads 60 kph and on the bigger connecting roads between villages and towns the max is 80kph.
But -till now- if you come with your own vehicle from outside Holland, Germany or Belgium, you are lucky...no fine for you.
However, around New Years Evenings the whole body is remmoved so at these times you can drive as fast as you like (not recommended).

so: Be warned!
These guys attacked me when I was walking through the main street.
They carry waterbombs and refillable semi-automatic waterguns. Fortunately I brought my camera so I could shoot them, but I couldn't prevent my feet from getting wet.
Be warned (or prepared) -you now know how they look like ;-)
