    Visit the windmill museum

This museum, (the Willem Basiaanse Mill Museum), houses a collection of windmill related items. Willem Basiaanse collected, in the course of 40 years of his life, a very unique collection of items from and about mills. He built over 50 of Dutch mills as real scale reproductions. He built over 50 garden mills according to orders of other people. Collected numerous pen drawings, series of match boxes with mills on them, also a collection of cigar wraps with mills on them. Enough to fill a little museum. In this small museum the lifetime work of Willem Bastiaanse is shown.

Interesting and well worth a visit

Where to find 'Prehistoric' Hekcattle ?

With some help from the Web: "The countryside on the island of Tholen has been affected by man and has been culitivated. The south of the island, especially, was subjected to 'the shovel' following the disastrous flood of 1953. The mudflats and salt marshes outside the dikes are stopping places for water birds such as coots, ducks and waders. During bird migrations, they are favorite places for bird-watchers. From the dike you can enjoy the panorama of the passing and foraging birds."

'Prehistoric' Hekcattle graze on the mudflats of the 'Heen'.
