The Belgische Loodsensociëteit is a Hotel Restaurant at one of the oldest location at the Boulevard. The sea pilot center is next door and this building houses a lot of local maritime history.

The restaurant offers classic fish and meat dishes and is great for dinners or a drink at the terras. The view with the pilots going on and off to the big ships nearby is great.

Kitchen open from 10AM to 10PM.

Favorite Dish: Tong (fish) baked in real butter from the monthly menu.

Restaurant De Gevangentoren opened in summer 2006, just when I happened to be in town. I visited this exclusive restaurant with a French/Dutch kitchen in its second opening week. Due to a rare heatwave the restaurant was loaded ever since it opened. The old round city gate tower, the only remainder of the old city wall is restored in its beauty and extended with a round terras with a glass wall with great view on the nearby ship traffic on the Schelde river.

The guests mainly seems to be upper class and our bunch was a little out-of-tune.
The owner let us know he gladly would toss me into the sea and surprisingly enough some friends spontaneously came up with some 10 Euro notes if he would do so. Unnecessary to say we had a great time.

The restaurant was so new, there were no businesscards available.

Business hours: From noon till late at night.

Favorite Dish: I started with salmon and had "Ossehaas" (South American beef) for the main course.
Desert was some raspberries and the most delicious icecream I ever had.

The Nollehoofd appears to be like the other snackbars at the Boulevard: a small shop with Patat (fries) and other snacks and a terras.
I think I had my last food there. The fries were not completely baked (probably went from the freezer into the frying pan) and the fish was pre-fabricated.
The floor was greasy, but to my surprise at the counter there was a tap at the left with a plain towel.

Favorite Dish: None.

Toon's Kiosk and Snackbar is strategically located at the newest part of the boulevard.
It's a combination of a souvenir etc shop and a Dutch snackbar.

I found the food quality just outside the red figures (seems to be the Vlissingen average by the way).

There are some first row screened seats, great for people and ships wathching, so no complaints about fast food!

Favorite Dish: Haven't discovered that one yet.

Kreta Palas was called Delphi in the past.
Well, Greek restaurants come and go (or change owners0 at Vlissingen.

Kreta Palas has not the appearance of nearby poseidon, but I found the food at Kreta much better and more original Greek.

Favorite Dish: Dolmadakia

Grand Cafe Raymondo is part of a number of buildings managed by the Amadore Group.
The High Grand Hotel Arion Tower is the most eyecathcing at the Vlissingen skyline and is one of the buildings. The others can be found in the same area at the Vlissingen Boulevard. Opposite Raymondo is the Grand Cafe Stefano's, followed by jerry's Smulroom.

Raymondo has a big terras where you can sit and enjoy the vie over the Schelde river and Northsea. Inside is a romatic brown warm interior for the winter days offering the same view as the terras.

Service is professional and friendly.

Business hours: Daily from 10AM.

Favorite Dish: The 3 course menu with Soup, salmon and fresh fruit and ice.

Stefano's Grand Cafe is a great place located at the Vlissing Boulevard with a wonderful seaview. There's an outdoor terras and a nice indoor setting.

Together with the opposite Grand Cafe Raymondo, jerry's Smulroom and the Grand Hotel Arion it's managed by the Amadore Group.

Business hours: Daily from 10AM.

Favorite Dish: I had the most tasteful "slibtongetjes"in years!

Rio Grande is a bit of everything. The decorations at the walls originate from many Middle- and South-American countries.

The dishes on the menu's are coming from many countries too and so, there's always something you will like.

Favorite Dish: Just had grilled chicken with a jacket-potataoe; very tasteful.

BTW The Spare Ribs are each as much as you can (made it up to 3 times)
