Each year there are two Christmas markets in Brielle along the main street Nobelstraat/Voorstraat. For 2007 it is on Sunday 16 and Sunday 23 December 2007. From about 12-17 hrs. In 2006 I rented a stall and sold goodies to raise money for the local Food Bank. We raised € 500! In 2007 I did it again with some friends. This time the chosen charity is Refugee Work in Brielle. And we earned € 350 !
At my stall you will be able to buy alcohol free appleglühwein, waffles from Drenthe (a New Year's eve speciality), and there's a Grabbelton for young and old. These are little gifts, wrapped up and for 1 euro you can choose any. Then be surprised at what you get! Of course it's lovely to browse all the other stalls. There will be very big Christmas trees all along the street, live music and horse and carriage with Santa, of course.
Everything under 5 euro at my stall. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Main street: Nobelstraat/VoorstraatDirections: My stall: In front of the toyshop Intertoys

BRIELLE SHOP APICIUS by ATLC The category Home Furnishings doesn't quite cover what this shop has to offer. High quality kitchen and dinner ware, as well as kitchen appliances (espresso machines for instance) and good advice. Really a shop for browsing. BRIELLE OLD PRINTS SHOP by ATLC One of my very favourite shops with old prints. I admire Jan Bazen's craftmanship a lot and often sit to chat with him and watch him work. He knows everything about any print in his shop even though there are thousands of them and always knows where to find what you ask for. Leave a Comment Theme: Home Furnishing

A brand new shop that opened last October (2007) with Italian delicacies such as meat cuts, cheeses, pasta's and all sorts of gifts. They also sell freshly ground coffee beans in different varieties, and wines.
I spent €32,62 on my first visit, on cheeses, prosciutto and rhum baba's. I got to taste everything first! Another € 46,20 was spent on gifts. So you see, not a shop that is safe for the purse. But definitely fun, with friendly people. The next little square is called Wellerondom. It's on the corner, lefthand side.

by ATLC Such goodies you can buy here! I come here weekly for extra large eggs, lots of cheese and olives, special hams and great advice. You need that advice, because you can do countless things with cheese. Leave a Comment Theme: Food and DrinkAddress: Voorstraat, Brielle

by ATLC Even though I live in the main street myself, I love to stop for a coffee break here. The tearoom Vergulde Geus is run by mentally disabled people and they just love to make you comfortable.
All cakes and chocolates are made by them too. And lovely sandwiches. Leave a Comment Theme: Food and DrinkAddress: Nobelstraat, Brielle

by ATLC And opposite the town hall is the square where you can have coffee outside on good days. The icecream cone man is always there too and often someone will make some music.

by ATLC A typical Dutch fishmonger's stall, here in Brielle. You will find these all over The Netherlands. This fish stall sells top quality raw herring (Hollandse Nieuwe). In fact, in 2002 it was the second best in the whole Netherlands according to the yearly herring test by a national newspaper Algemeen Dagblad. Leave a Comment Theme: Food and Drink

by ATLC Here's Brielle on a quiet early morning. But soon the street will be bustling with people. Brielle is one of the main shopping centers of Voorne-Putten. In my opinion the nicest shops behind those quaint housefronts. In the weekends young people from all over come to the pubs and disco. Lots of fashion shops from cheap to classy and expensive, antiques, bookshops and many pubs and restaurants.
