Favorite thing: Located in the Province of South Holland ( ZUID - HOLLAND ) in between Rotterdam and the Hague.
DELFT dates from the 13th century. Its association with the House of Orange began when William of Orange took up residence in Delft in 1572. When William was shot to death in 1584 by Balthazar Gerards in the Hall of the Prinsenhof, he was buried in the Nieuwe Kerk ( New Church ). The Royal family "House of Orange" keeps the tradition of family burials, in a vault under the church.

My girlfriend is the daughter of conductor of the singers, he is now 87 years old.
It was a happening, and it was organised by a former member of one of the schools, here homepage on the internet is www.jeannebouwmeester.nl

Fondest memory: One of my fondest memories was the moor hen with her chickens. We were walking along the canal when we saw a heap of gras on the water. After a better look, we noticed the nest of a moor hen with her chickens. It was so fun to see the little ones swim around.
We had dinner in the Thai restaurant just opposite her nest and from the window we had a good view of the moor hen. A lot of people stopped to look and make pictures.

Fondest memory: After our visit to the Keukenhof, we had a short stop in Delft. It was already 5 p.m. when we arrived and parked near the 'Oostpoort'. From here, we walked through the gate and along the canal to the city centre. We had a drink in cafe "Vlaanderen" at the Beestenmarkt, strolled along the canals and narrow streets, and had dinner at a Thai restaurant called Mai Thai.
By the time we left the cosy town of Delft it was already 9 p.m.
Combined with the Keukenhof, it was a great day out.

Favorite thing: The New Church (De Nieuwe Kerk) situated on the Markt was built between 1383 and 1510. The black and white marble sarcophagus of William I of Orange, surrounded by allegorical statues representing Fame, Valor, Religion, Justice and Liberty, is most impressive. His little dog, who died because he refused to eat when his master died, adds a poignant note to the tomb. The exceptional tomb was designed by Hendrick de Keyser in 1614 and completed by his son Pieter in 1622. The Burial Vaults of the Royal family are not accessible but there is a diagram showing locations and identifying coffins.
There are also exhibitions on the House of Orange and the history of the church.
Climb the tower of the New Church! Enjoy the view at more than 356 feet high. When the weather is clear, you have a magnificent view over the glass greenhouses of Westland, and the cities of The Hague, Zoetermeer, Gouda, Rotterdam, the harbors and industry of the Rijnmond area and the North Sea.

Favorite thing: Very cosy and nice district to have a walk, it seemed to me like a small Amsterdam, small houses, petit briges, kleine grachts.... though this rain spoilt everything, doesn't add a lot of comfort to wonder under pouring water without any umbrella whatsoever....

Favorite thing: oohhh, i like skating in the rain... Mooo-mooo.... skating in the rain.... Mooo-mooo
well, pardon my deaf ear, not a good singer though... but I was so amused seeing a few poor wet ones skating under the rain and there was an animation team as well on the stage trying to attracte more skaters.... but pardon me! coming from a country where one can skate in proper weather conditions, well gimme a break!

Favorite thing: At a first glance I thought that I had to rush and save this poor thing from true death and thus become a faithful WWF member.... was overwelmed with the right decision I was about to make.... but then.... miserable feeling... it turned out to be an artificial.... what a picture I would've made saving this stuffed one.... Do I have a flat sense of humor? ;)))

Favorite thing: Delft actually is full of different monuments and small statues.....
I liked this one but what I liked about it unfortunately can't be guessed from the pic... with the magic of a flash the colours became apparent, but while observing it in natural conditions it was really hard to guess what it was, we even made bets on the right guess...
he-he, only now I can see that I won it :))))
