Town Hall, Delft
Now that we've got our brochures and touristinformation, it's time for a stroll.
Let's start at the town hall on Markt square.
It was built in 1620 by the famous Dutch architect Hendrik de Keyser, who also left his mark all over Amsterdam.
Unfortunately, the sun was shining right in my lense and there were stalls in front of it. So a proper picture could not be made.
This city hall as we see it today was built between 1618-1620 and designed by Hendrick de Keyser . It's a remarkable building and you can clearly see that, in the past, it had a different function than today. it was a Count's residence but if you look at the tall tower it becomes clear that the building used to serve as the city prison, too.
Delft is a great place to visit!!Nice for shopping .and nice terrace..Ii was there in spring but pitty it deed raining!
!And now I was back in okt and the weather great!!
The Town hall is a imposing building on the Market Square.
They say that the small tower on top of the building used to be a prison.
Situated at the market, can't miss it. Unfortunately it is not open for public but the outside is also very beautifull.
This town hall consists of various buildings of which the oldest one is the tower (13th century). The other parts have been built around the tower in the 17th century.
Great car.we see this beautifull car for a wedding...a our before come a couple on a cycle!!also nice to see!!and hope she all where happy!!
The town hall on the square is lovely .
It was built in Renaissance style in 1618. It was designed by Hendrick de Keyser. It is actually built around a 13th century Gothic tower.
Is on the main square, Markt, as well. Really beautiful Renaissance construction with a Gothic tower, was built on the base from Middle Ages.
