Favorite thing: The marina is my favorite place in Dordrecht. The area is quite open and there’s a good variety of yachts and old business frontages. This is where Dordrecht and you can still find signs of the original harbor.

Favorite thing: I wouldn't consider Dordrecht as a great shopping-city, but it is very sociable, because of the historical environment. It's also fun to combine it with visiting a big event.
Shopping on sundays is possible every last sunday of the month.

Favorite thing: My view on Dordrecht, is that it's nice for a one-day trip, for example when you're staying in Rotterdam. The best way to discover this beautiful old city is by bicycle. Dordrecht has cycle-routes all over the city, and its the best way to see the beautiful nature-spots and hitsorical architecture in the centre.
To make the day really special you can come to Dordrecht travelling over the water, by fast ferry (departure from Rotterdam, erasmusbrug).
Fondest memory: Dordecht has got really nice views!

Favorite thing: Ary Scheffer was known more in France than in his native Netherlands. He was born in the city of Dordrecht, but after his father died, his mother sent him to Paris.
He was known for many portraits of politicians and composers but also for his pantings of medieval theme. He even created some historical pantings for Versailles.
Scheffer's paintings can be found all over the world in museums in UK, France, Russia, USA, and even Australia. And of course there is a big collection of his works in Dordrechts Museum, which were given to the city by his daughter after his death.
The statue of Ary Scheffer is standing in the center of Dordrecht

Favorite thing: How funny it was to discover this building just next to the city hall! It must have been the former headquarter of the police in Dordrecht, but know changed into a baby & kid store!
The mouse on the window calls Iniemieni but the letters on the front of the building still indicates "Hoofdbureau van Politie".

Favorite thing: you must walk around the city towards the harbour and dont forget to look up to the top of the buildings or you will miss some beautiful architecture.dont forget to look down sometimes because the doggy doo is there waiting for you too.you will eventually come to the old church which the city was built around,a truely beautiful sight
Fondest memory: i think the little bridges across the canals and the water that laps the buildings, and the boats waiting to go back on duty with their captains, you get the feeling that the boats want to tell you a story about their adventures.

Fondest memory: An example of what happens when you build houses without proper support on boggy ground. As you can see they have all started leaning, some forward and some backward, which gives a very interesting overall effect.

Favorite thing: climb the church-tower and enjoy the view when you are on top: TEARS will come in your eyes because of the vast view over HET DORDTSE KIL and the river MERWEDE which is so touching and of because of the wind, that watery wind, that blows from over the water straight into your face and smell so good!>
Fondest memory: Each time I come there I find unexpected streets, buildings and other surprises: and of course 'het feest der herkenning' the pleasure of seeing it all again and again!
Re-visit my favourite Museums time and again!!
