Leezza is a small shop in the city centre with the largest collection of scarves - shawls in town.

What to buy: At Leezza you can buy original Dutch scarves:
printed 100% silk Volendam costume photography. The picture on the scarf is taken 1955, a small boy in Volendam costume.
Further there are dark blue prints 100% cotton with an original Dutch print. The print is still to see in Staphorst but this is a much nicer quality and bigger 120 x 120 cm.

What to buy: Beside other attractions, for all the gourmands, Netherlands is also renowned for its two famous types of cheese: Gouda and Edam.
The Gouda cheese is factory or farms made; when is farm made it is called Boerenkaas, meaning farm cheese.
Gouda is made with fresh or pasteurized cow’s milk and has a fat content of at least 48%.
Edam cheese is similar with Gouda, but has another shape: a ball with a yellow crust.

What to pay: EUR 6-8 for a piece of 200gr.

    Commercial Street in Gouda

What to buy: The Syrup waffles, made from two round waffles with a caramel filling, are another specialty of Gouda. Stroopwafels were invented in Gouda in 1784.
Sometimes nuts or other flavors are added to the filling.
The traditional dutch way to eat the stroopwafels is with a cup of coffee or tea and place the stroopwafel on top of the hot cup in order to soften it up.

What to pay: Even as less as EUR 1- for a pack of 10 Syrup waffles.
