Favorite thing: Minerva is a student organization's whose headquarters is right behind the Hotel Nieuw Minerva, where I stayed. If you stay at this hotel - especially when the weather's warm and the windows are open - you'll be very aware of Minerva. Maybe painfully so as they're LOUD (Hey, they're students!) and you may lose sleep over them!

Now, I don't know if this organization was involved in some sort of popularity campaign, but these signs were all over Leiden.

Maybe they're just there to torture the hotel guests....

Favorite thing: and one can wander thru the Campus area...an interesting challenge to a visitor it to find the poems attached to various buildings in the area...they're written in many languages from Arabic to Spanish and add an interesting twist to a visit to this city ...it also helps if you have a "tourGuide" fluent in several languages...

Favorite thing: The University of Leiden is the oldest of the country, where I studied.

Fondest memory: It is spread over the city, but the main building is the Academy Hall, from the 14th century.
