Translates to The Old Sluice. It's a pub with a billiard (or so it says on the window) just in front of the St. Peter & Paul church. If you sit on the terrace outside, you have a great view of the handworked bridge that in summer season opens and closes all the time to let boats through. Quite an enjoyable sight while you enjoy your drink.

In the new part of Leidschendam you find this restaurant just outside a shopping mall. Along a rather large pond there are these modern pavillions, each being a separate restaurant. We chose the Coffee Club, a kind of brasserie-like restaurant with an outside terrace along the water.
Kitchen open from 9-22 hrs and weekends (Sat-Mon) until 19.30.
A three course meal is offered for a very friendly 13,50 euro.
Favorite Dish: The fruit juices were nice. Also mixed with milk or yoghurt. Not terribly expensive at 2,50 -3,50 euro for a large glass.
I had a salade Nicoise (8,50 euro), which looked good, big portion but basically contained a whole tin of tuna (too much!), no potato cubes and a dressing from some bottle. Definitely not a home made dressing which would be so easy and cheap to make!
The cappuccino (1,70 euro) was good, nice firm milk froth.
