The old tramstation in build in 1907 and is used by the Westlandsche Stoomtramweg-Maatschappij. In the second half of the 60's the tram didnt need to ride anymore. And since 1977 it is used by our foreign Dutch people from Turkey or Marrocco (cant tell if its one or the other.)

This church has been build several times, it was stroke by ligthening and was overtaken by the statuestorm. And when they build it again in 1787 its been only alright till 1870.
When they build a new church that one only lest till 1897. And because a person called Hofstede died and left all his belonings to the church (also his grounds and farm) they can build a new big church. And in 1931 they start to use it and still do.

We live in a area called "Westland". Its in the most West part of the Netherlands. We have our own flag and you can see it on this picture, dancing in the wind. The green is for what we build and the white is for all the greenhouses.

The chapel you can see on my homepage about Naaldwijk is there since they build the houses. (on this picture on the left) But its also possible the chapel was build in the same time as the church and belonged to this church. (you can see the chapel on this picture from behind on the left side). Most people think that this chapel was build in name of Frederik Hendrik. His wapen (sign) is above the entrance. The chapel is since the 18th century not really a chapel any more but was used for all kind of things. Since a few years its possible to get married in this chapel (like Frans and I did in 1995).

The people who lived in this hofje must come from the Church communitie. One of them was a kind of sucurity guard. All the people would get some money from the state. In 1627 this was Fl. 3,-- (that about
€ 1,20) par month. In 1631 it was already Fl. 7,-- (about € 3,00). Now a days they still get Fl. 1,-- par week (€ 0,45).

Hendrik IV, lord of Naaldwijk, put in his testament that his money, when he died, would be used to build a house for 5 poor, old men. And he also said that it would be build on the courd of the church near the Kerklaan (Churchstreet). This one house was replaced for 5 little houses. In 1627, Frederik Hendrik (then he was lord of Naaldwijk) put 15 houses with the 5 already excisting houses. Five for men and 15 for women. And that is how this garden (hofje) found his foundaition

People from all over the world are working in the auction. The auction in Naaldwijk has 10.000 people in the building every day. There is a restaurant (3), a snackbar (2 driving and 1 in the building), there are more then 1500 people only working for the auction in Naaldwijk. And then there is Bleiswijk, Eelde and Rijnsburg who are also part of Flora Holland.
Last mothersday there was a profit of € 48.000.000 !!
Its a little town with a lot of buildings and you will be amazed that you loose your way inside the building.
Really worth to pay a visite!

This is one of the oldest buildings in Naaldwijk. Its the Station. Once there was a train in Naaldwijk, but its not there anymore. The building is now a moskee for our foreign citisans and a place to come all together.

This is the oldest church in town. Near the street i have shown you already The Angulariusstraat , (one of the oldest streets in Naaldwijk).
In the summer you can see here a show with all kind of sunflowers. These is something that a lot of people really love to see.

Naaldwijk is famous for it's glass houses, and in those houses flowers are grown. So next to the main roads to Naaldwijk there's a large complex for selling and buying these flowers. It has recently expanded to the other side of the road making the complex even larger. The complex in Naaldwijk is the largest of five complexes Flora has in the Netherlands.
Inside the complex many companies have their offices and cooling cells to keep the flowers in the best shape to sell them.
