Memorial for 50 years of peace

This memorial located on the crossing of the Bachlaan and the Verdilaan was put here by the school children of Naaldwijk in 1995.

It's made up out of tiles with the designs made by the participating schools.

Schools from Honselersdijk, Naaldwijk and Maasdijk took part in the creation of this Memorial.

It shows the importance to remember past wars to see the real value of peace..

Again the shoppingcentre...this time inside...i have made some new pictures for you about my hometown so i will add them between the ones already there.
There are a lot of shops, you can find out if its something for you on the website.
By the way, there are plenty of restaurants inside too, so bring your husband.

Watertower in Naaldwijk

The Watertower of Naaldwijk is on obvious landmark in Naaldwijk. This building is located at the Grote Woerdlaan.

The tower is 41 meters high and dates from the 1930. It was constructed uit of bricks and has a non visible concrete fundament.

The function as water tower has ended and there are plans to make it a housing project.

De Tuinen, the place to
shop

I dont know about you but i love to shop (maybe because i am a woman?) Since 1998 we have a a shoppingstreet with a roof over it. So when it rains outside (and thats happens a lot in Holland) we can have a nice shopping without getting wet. Different shops, two nice coffeecorners, perfect environment and they have something special : Nice smelling garbagebins. There is a special technical thing in it thats it smells like coockies with christmas, flowers in spring and coco in summer!

On wednesday there is a market on the plaza. (Wilhelmina plein).
You can buy there cheese, clothes, fish and more for less money.
Great place to be, only a little small.

The watertower is a very big building. In the old times there was water in it to supply all the households in Naaldwijk. Its a nice building and i wish i could buy it to make my house in it....i would paint everything cause wallpapering is not so nice in a building like this......or is it???

At a road called Opstalweg there is a little park, very little. just some grass, tress and when you look very close some stones. Not JUST stones but grave stones. Its a Israelitisch Grave-yard. You can only pay a visite when you make an appointment.
I couldnt find more info on the net.... sorry for that.

Flower auction Holland is really special. This picture is taken from the new road that is specialy made for all the trucks that drive all over the Netherlands to bring flowers to all the places in the Netherlands, Germany, Belguim and many, many more.
The high flat you see is made in the years i was still working there and i have to say it was very special to stand on that roof and looking down 14 floors, 53 meters high (and on a day which was very clear you could see the sea !
