    This former hotel dates back to the 17th century. It became famous when the painters of the Haagse School discovered it around 1900. The building was a restaurant / bar untill the 1980´s and now it is a disco.

    From may 2003 the disco is closed !!

    From 29 august 2003 het Vliegend Paard is reopend as a restaurant. As soon as we visited we will put a tip under restaurants.

    How to get here:
    - by car is by far the most convenient.
    Nieuwkoop is about 25 km south of Amsterdam. The main road taking you to Nieuwkoop is the N231.
    - by bus is the next best:
    The 147 from Conexxion is passing every 30- 60 minutes. Line 147 travels from Alphen a/d Rijn to Uithoorn / Amstelveen.
    - by train is impossible, there are no trains around here.

    When you have enough money you also take a taxi (taxis are not cheap in the Netherlands) . Nieuwkoop has its own taxi company:
