    fish kiosk

We ate each a fish snack from this Kiosk by the town center. It’s just next to the path going down to the beach. I had some freshly deepfried pieces of fish of which I forgot the name but they were yummy.

Visspecialiteitenrestaurant de Botter: Want immers: vis moet zwemmen…!

by csordila Updated Feb 4, 2010

3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness in all variations

It offers delicious fish at acceptable prices.
We were many times there and we were always exemplary served. The service was perfect, meals came hot on the table, better it does not go.
The meals cost from €10,- to €20,- and at lunch between 12am and 5pm (soups, sandwiches, omelett, sausage, smaller fish meals) from €3.

Favorite Dish: The choice is large - fish in all variations but there are still different meals as well.
"Plat du jour" is excellent when it is fish - it is fresh, served simply and tasty.
The supplements are always identical ( Pommes Frites and roasted potatoes ), but more importantly that the fish are always totally freshly prepared.
We were always satisfied with the offered food. The fish and the meat is delicious, the appetizers such as fish soup are tasty and the price is nice.
The beverages are the usual soft drinks, wines, beers, everyone should come also by right.

The restaurant is opened in the summer months daily from 10am to midnight.

    Mutant(?) Strawberries

by Heinisuo Written May 12, 2003

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I don't know what kind of fertilizers they use to grow the local strawberries, but most of them are really big. I call them "genetic engineered strawberries" because of that.

I think the taste of the strawberries is inverserly proportional to its size: the bigger the berry, more awful is the taste.

On the picture you can see one of the
    weirdest ones...

by ealgisi Updated Apr 4, 2011

Really a great restaurant for meat.
Dishes are pretty big and portions as well.

The inside of the restaurant is equiped with old mexican wooden chairs, tables, etc...
So the moment you step in you feel like in Mexico.

Service is great and people are really kind.

    Brasserie Bon Bon: Meat

by ealgisi Written Apr 9, 2008

Another nice little place where you can have some tasty meat.

Unfortunately the menu is just in Dutch, they don't have it in English, don't know the reason, but a well English speaking girl will help you understand it.

    Service also good.

    Favorite Dish: Steak

Another great place on the sea side where you can enjoy your dinner.
Equiped inside like if you jump into a fisherman home, really unique and nice.

The service is not bad, and dishes big enough.

Iets Anders: Various kind of meal

by ealgisi Written Apr 9, 2008

This is the first place i've been for dinner and i've been satisfied since the very first 10 mins.

The restaurant is on 2 floors, not really big inside, but with some kind of charming.
Service is really really good and really kind.

Maybe not really fast in bringing dishes, but hey, that's not a big problem.

Tasty dishes are ready to be eaten, and fabulous desserts are there just to tease your mouth.

Favorite Dish: Brownie & tiramisu as dessert

    Restaurant Mykonos: Greek food

by ealgisi Written Apr 11, 2008

If you like Greek food or if you wanna try it for the first time, this is the right place to start.
Prices are not high at all, and dishes are pretty big, let's say enough to satisfy your mouth.

Serive is simply great in this little restaurant owned by Greek people.

    Blush lunch lounge bar: Lounge

by ealgisi Updated Apr 20, 2008

This place has been renewed recently (april 2008) and i must admit it's really nice.
Nice terrace outside where you can enjoy drinks or eat.

Inside you can eat as well, smokers zone is separated from the rest of restaurant.
I must admit that dishes portions are not really big, but very tasty, kind of nouvelle cuisine.

Also wine is really really good.

    La Toscana: Awful italian food

by rsilva Written Aug 27, 2006

Located at the main Boulevarde, along the beach, this is the classic tourist-restaurant and that is rarely a good thing.
We had been to a concert in Noordwijk and decided to grab a bite before going home as it was getting late, so we were going to try the Mexican restaurant right next to this one but it was closed, so we decided to try "La Toscana", although we tend to avoid Italian restaurants (my girlfriend is Italian).

When the waiter arrived, we were glad to hear that he was Italian, so the first thing we asked was it the Cook was Italian as well, as that usually will ensure simple things such as properly cooked pasta.

We had a "Spaghetti Toscana" and a "Fettucine Salmone". My Fettucine were overcooked (unacceptable by Italian standards) and plain awful and the salmon was tasteless.
My girlfriend's Spaghetti were actually cut into small pieces (another culinary crime).
After having said we were Italian (well at least part of us are :)), we were expecting much better. We complained to the waiter who said it was "strange" that our pastas were not good. He said he would offer the coffie, which we obviously did not accept.

We had actually had a very nice dinner here some years ago, part of a private birthday party of an Italian friend and I absolutely hate restaurants you must be friends with the owner in order to get good food.

Needless to say we will not come back

    Favorite Dish: none.

  • Onder de Pannen: Mountains of succulent ribs

by TSigel Written Nov 8, 2005

This small local restaurant was packed with natives on Friday, November 4th. The waitstaff was extremely friendly and the chef even came out to say hello and to check up on how we were enjoying the meal. Great ambience, fun atmosphere.

Favorite Dish: We ordered the ribs which were piled high and succulent and tasty-- marinated in some sort of teriyaki sauce. DELICIOUS! One portion was enough for about 3 people!! It also included home fries, french fries AND steamed vegetables. We rolled out of that place stuffed to the gullet. We just couldn't stop eating those delicious ribs.

    Alexander Beach Club: Great location.

by Jerelis Written Jan 28, 2014
Enjoying a great evening at Alexander Beach Club.
    2 more images

What to do in Noordwijk aan Zee whenever you see the sun going down in the sea? This is a rather easy question to answer … do visit a beach club. This leaves, of course, the question which beach club to visit. We had the luxury that we stayed in Noordwijk aan Zee for one week and the weather was great the entire week. Therefore we were able to visit more than one beach club. During one of those evenings Paulien and I had a very nice stroll along the sea and saw the Alexander Beach Club lying in the sand. We decided to have drink and were not sorry for that!

To us the Alexander Beach Club is the perfect beach club with a very friendly service. The atmosphere is relaxed and we truly enjoyed our stay there. Besides that we felt very welcome by the staff and enjoyed the evening with just a few meters to the waves. They served lovely cocktails which we enjoyed while watching the fire basket and that just a few meters from the sandy beach! We also order a great rose wine and had something to eat to go with it. To us sitting here was the ultimate holiday at the beach feeling!

    Bries: True experience.

by Jerelis Written Jan 28, 2014
The rose wine is almost gone :)
    1 more image

Bar restaurant Bries has quite a good name in Noordwijk aan Zee. We learned than in general dining at Bries is well appreciated, especially after a day at the beach.

We visited Bries during the evening for a nice cold glass of rose wine. With the sound of the sea in the background and the sun slowly sinking into the sea every glass of wine is an experience indeed. We saw on other tables that the grilled steak was served at their table with salad, bread, French fries and sauces. We also saw a costumer replying that he had a big appetite and was allowed to take the chef’s knife to show how big his meat should be. How about that! The card showed that vegetarian or fish dishes are available as well.

Keep in mind that reservations are highly recommended.

Favorite Dish: Fish lovers take note! Every Wednesday Bries presents the well- known Fish Market. While you are enjoying a glass of wine and live music you can choose your own fish with advice of the chefs.
