Noordwijk is a true shopper's paradise. It's no wonder really, as the shopping centre in the Hoofdstraat practically runs all the way to the sea. It is an ideal place, the shops range from flower stall to the HEMA, from the baker to Blokker.

Most shops in Noordwijk are open from Tuesday to Friday between 09:00 – 6:00 pm, and shut at 5:00 pm on Saturdays. On Mondays shops open at 1:00 pm (department stores from 11:00 am).

Supermarkets: Monday to Saturday, 08:00 am – 08:00 pm - Thursday, 08:00 am – 9:00 pm - Sunday, noon – 5:00 pm

Fridays are late night shopping when the shops are open until 9:00 pm.

The banks operate different hours of business. The majority of banks are open Tuesday to Friday, between 10:00am – 5:00 pm, and on Mondays between 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Most banks are shut on the weekend.

Post Office/Hoofdstraat: Monday to Friday, 09:00am – 5:00 pm, Saturday, 10:00am – 1:00 pm.

What to buy: Noordwijk Sea Water, a classic distilled Jenever with hints of cinnamon, cloves and vanilla. A deliciously sweet cordial, produced exclusively by Drinkland Noordwijk B.V. It comes highly recommended! Maarten Kruystraat 24, Noordwijk aan See

Huize van Wely bonbons, the true professional distinguishes themselves by producing a traditional product that is in a class of its own. The professionals at Huize van Wely (which include both National and European champions) concoct their creations under the inspirational direction of the owner. Hoofdstraat 88, Noordwijk aan See.

CAKES FROM HUIZE VAN WELY

Huize van Wely counts as the finest patissier (baker) and chocolatier in The Netherlands.
Situated in a bland shopping street, it stands out with its mouthwatering window display.
You can even order online!

What to buy: Chocolates, cakes (for special occassions), ice cream and icecream cakes.

I took some pictures from the Huize van Wely website, threw them together to show my favourites!

What to pay: Online prices:
cake in wooden box (Hennesy, Moët et Chandon, teacake, nutcake) -> € 20,50

Chocolates:
prices from € 17,95 to € 35 (14-24 chocolates).
