Spectacular surroundings breathes the unique atmosphere of historical Rotterdam during its heyday of busy import/export harbour. New restaurant since 2001, fully booked on a weekday. More classical than trendy, though I suppose classical IS trendy these days. Service is friendly and prompt. Good menu, nice food though could be improved to match big brother Van Popering in Witte de Withstraat, Rotterdam (my favourite Rotterdam restaurant).
My companion, music lover, was enthusiastic about the choice of background music which wasn't too loud.
Art galleries, more restaurants and in the neigbouring warehouses will surround this place soon.
Favorite Dish: Oysters done 3 different ways. Calf's tongue with sweetbread. Generous portion of cheese though missed a glass of good madeira or amontillado sherry to go with it.

This amazing Chienese boat look beautiful from outside and inside. When you enter the boat, on the left side of the entry, is a Chienese restaurant and on the right side, is a Oriental supermarket. As for me, it is a perfect place to have a rest stop and have a drink after doing some shopping.
Thai restaurant, newly opened in 2003. Staff are helpful and kind be it a bit inexperienced. Food is good, if it is authentic I wouldn't know. There's a unique view of the river Maas.
Favorite Dish: Chickensoup with coconut, octopus and shrimp dish with Thai basil. Very tasty and not too hot. Most main dishes are about 17 euro. We spent 88 euro on a three course mail and an extra shared starter, one glass of wine, two beers and 3 coffees.
Brand new, trendy restaurant to which many Rotterdammers have already found their way.
Restaurant was full on a Thursday evening. Open kitchen, fun to watch the pizza's go in and out.
Good for a quick meal or a leisurely meal, whichever you prefer.
Favorite Dish: Long list of antipasto (starters) to choose from. Average price: € 8.00.
Then pizza's, small (average €525) and normal (average € 8,00).
0,75 cl sparkling mineral water: € 4.00. Pity that the bottle of water was already opened when it arrived at the table. It should be opened at the table so you can see that it is a new hottle.
Average price based on one starter and one pizza (two course), coffee and one beverage.
Quick and friendly service.
At the Historisch Westelijk Handelsterrein you will find Winebar En Verre. They offer about 220 kinds of wine. It has a classy ambiance. So if you really enjoy wine, this is the place to be.
In the Scheepvaartkwartier you find a nice brasserie for a good lunch. Prices are not low but you get a good meal, nice ambiance and a great location in return. Loos is between the Erasmusbridge.
