Rotterdam Airport is the 2nd largest airport in the country.
There are no domestic flights (Amsterdam is just half an hour by train) but there are some (low-cost) flights to Europe.
Transavia provides low-cost flights to Rotterdam from several destination around Europe. KLM flies into London-City Airport. VLM also has scheduled flights into London-City Airport and Hamburg. Theme: Airplane

It's a mere 1hr 15 minutes flight from Manchester. The flights were punctual both ways and despite the short flight you get in flight catering - a sandwich and hot/cold drinks. Service (especially given the short time the staff have) was good - Efficient, courteous and warm & Friendly.
The Manchester flight used to leave at 0630 , but VLM moved it back to 0830 after regular passengers complained that 0630 was too early - nice to see an organization listen to it's customers and respond to their customers wishes.
All in all I was impressed with VLM and would heartily recommend them to anyone. Leave a Comment

A short flight above Rotterdam and area is within financial limits! It's a great way to see the area from above. The city of Rotterdam, the mighty Port of Rotterdam with its big ships and industry, the famous Deltaworks, or in spring the glass house industry and bulb fields of the Westland area. Prices (2008) are from 33 euro - 90 euro per person for a 15 minute-1 hour flight (max. 3 persons per plane).

When you arrive by plane at Rotterdam Airport you can take the special airport shuttle service to Rotterdam Central station in the middle of city center. The shuttle bus leaves every 10 minutes and takes you within 20 minutes to the Central Station. Of course, it goes the other way as well. You can buy tickets from the bus driver and it's much cheaper than taking a taxi! Leave a Comment
