I didn't do much shopping myself, but in a city centre there are quite a many shops, markets and Winkels Mall, where you can propable get rid of that "extra" money pretty easily.
Near the central railway station there are various eastern (mainly Chinese) restaurants and shops, which could offer you a much better bargain and more interesting (at least different kind of) choices.
