The Oude Binnenweg is a piece of Old Rotterdam in the modern reconstructed center.
You'll find some od the typical Rotterdam atmosphere here with a mix of modern art.
I recommend you have a break here at one of the bars and enjoy the people watching from the terrasses.
De Lijnbaan is the main Rotterdam downtown shopping street. It was special designed in 1949 when the heart of Rotterdam, that was destroyed in World War II had to be rebuild.
The aim was to create a mix of living and shopping areas.
The name originates from the old rope-walk that was located here from 1667 till 1845.
The Lijnbaan opened in 1953 and is a pedestrian area.
Most major Dutch chain stores have a branch at this street.
Newer shop developments are under construction at the South side of the Lijnbaan at the so-called "Koopgoot".
