het brouwcafe: cosy restaurant
ofcourse with vt it is already cosy.
we had a big table and most of us choosed a 3 course menu for €18.50
Favorite Dish: i choosed
soep van bospaddestoelen (forrest mushroom soup) as starter.
visspies (4 kinds of fish on a stick) diner
tartufo (with chocolat icecream)
The brouwcafe: Mmmmm t was delicious!
The Brouwcafe is the only brewery in The Hague. Since July 1996 it is at the second inner harbor of Scheveningen.
Each day fresh beers are brewn here.
It s real cafe and we sat at the podium. Still were a bit bothered by the cold draft each time the door opened/closed.
A bit packed but not very uncomfortable.
Favorite Dish: We had to choose between two menu's and I was satisfied bout the choice that was made.

Various beach clubs: Strandtenten
There is no place in the Netherlands with so many so-called "strandtenten". These are cafés, bars, restaurants on the beach. All have their own music, from soft romantic over salsa & merengue to hard rock. A real cacaphony of styles but very enjoyable on a hot sunny day.
Some organize beach volley or other tournaments to entertain their guests.
Some have exotic names like Buena Vista Beachclub, Bora Bora Beachclub, Manchebo Beach, Copacabana, etc.
A 'grand-café/restaurant' on the sea boulevard, in the centre of Scheveningen-Bad.
Favorite Dish: We had their 19.90 euro menu which was a 3-course menu with 3 choices for each course. We chose a tomato/mozzarella salad for starters, grilled salmon with fried potatoes and broccoli as a main and vanilla ice-cream with hot cherries and whipped cream for dessert.
Good value for money!
Copacabana: Hungry and not able to choose...
We had checked in and felt kinda lagged by the hussle and bussle of leaving home.
Something to eat sounded a good idea, but what to choose? It all seemed to be delicious!
Favorite Dish: This is but one favourite, the one my hubby had (with just the ham) looked great as well...choices choices!

't Pannenkoekenhuisje Scheveningen: Very yummie pancakes
Well actually i usually don't go to pancake restaurants. But we once had to kill some time and needed lunch when one of my collegues came up with this. And now every once in a while we all go and have lunch here when the weather is good and we feel like it. It's right on the boulevard and they have an amazing list of pancakes.. 94 variaties on their list. And if you can't choose.. they have some salads and other stuff as well.
Favorite Dish: So far all pancakes i have tried are very very good.
Price range from a very simple pancake Euro 4.20 up to a complete dinner-type of pancake 11.20 euro. They also have various menu's ranging from 6.40 up to 15.40 euro (prices 2003)
Het brouwcafe: Great view on the harbour
Very nice cafe-restaurant with also a nice terrace which gives a splendid view on the Scheveningen harbour. They brew their own beer which you can sip while you see the sun set over the sea...
You can have diner from the menu but they also have a monthly menu for 16 euo (3-courses) and main courses from the house for 10 euro.
They also do a very decend lunch
Favorite Dish: What i like most i think is their kipsate. Very tasty
Het Brouw Café: Home brewed beers!
This is the place where the VT-meeting took place. They have 3 home brewed beers, which are delicious!! They are:
-Frisse Wind (a white beer)
-Malle Mok (darker beer, like Palm)
Definitely try them out when you come to Scheveningen. The food in the restaurant is also good. I loved the chicken saté. The sauce is perfect and spicy.
Check out the travelogue for the meeting pics!!
Second harbour: And then you must choose....
There are quite some restaurants to choose from in the second harbour. The picture shows part of it but if you walk on a little on the city side of this harbour there you can find even more restaurants. Frequented mostly by local people. Tourists have a tendency to stay on the boulevard..
Brauwcafe: Restaurants at the harbour
The best of the restaurants in Scheveningen can be found at the harbour. Walk from the Boulevard South until you reach the first harbour (the one near the sea). There you can find some cheap spots where you can eat fish, like Gebr. Simonis (Visafslagweg 20) or Haringhuisje. When you walk further away from the coast, you get to the second harbour. Along the water are built some new buildings with a lot of restaurants inside, like Lemon Grass (Nouvelle Cuisine), Dagvisser (fish) and de Zoute Zoen (also fish). Rainbow is a funny restaurant in tropical forest atmosphere, which is nice for kids. Pasta company is one of the best italian restaurants of The Hague. My favourite place is Brouwcafe, where they have simple but good food, excelent beer and a wonderful view on the harbour from the sunny terrace. If you walk further along the second harbour to the yaughts at the end, you will see the old Visafslag (fishtrade) building with another group of restaurants inside. The first one is Dukdalf, the best but also most expensive fish restaurant in town. But there are also several cousy bars for sailors or yachtclubs.
Favorite Dish: Take something with fish: it's fresh!
Sea-U: Fresh Seafood
Sea-U is a restaurant for a nice food & drink stop before going on a boat trip on the Northsea (or thereafter).

Big Bell: The Middle of Scheveningen
A nice cafe which is located in the Scheveningen boulevard, right infront of the Pier. It;s a nice place to have coffee, especially during the winter time.
Copacabana: Hungry !!
We sat outside and despite being early in the season, the staff served us as if they could not wait for summer to arrive...cheerful and joking...without being irritating.
