Well actually i usually don't go to pancake restaurants. But we once had to kill some time and needed lunch when one of my collegues came up with this. And now every once in a while we all go and have lunch here when the weather is good and we feel like it. It's right on the boulevard and they have an amazing list of pancakes.. 94 variaties on their list. And if you can't choose.. they have some salads and other stuff as well.
Favorite Dish: So far all pancakes i have tried are very very good.
Price range from a very simple pancake Euro 4.20 up to a complete dinner-type of pancake 11.20 euro. They also have various menu's ranging from 6.40 up to 15.40 euro (prices 2003)

This is the place where the VT-meeting took place. They have 3 home brewed beers, which are delicious!! They are:
-Frisse Wind (a white beer)
-Malle Mok (darker beer, like Palm)
-Tripel
Definitely try them out when you come to Scheveningen. The food in the restaurant is also good. I loved the chicken saté. The sauce is perfect and spicy.
Check out the travelogue for the meeting pics!!

There are quite some restaurants to choose from in the second harbour. The picture shows part of it but if you walk on a little on the city side of this harbour there you can find even more restaurants. Frequented mostly by local people. Tourists have a tendency to stay on the boulevard..

The best of the restaurants in Scheveningen can be found at the harbour. Walk from the Boulevard South until you reach the first harbour (the one near the sea). There you can find some cheap spots where you can eat fish, like Gebr. Simonis (Visafslagweg 20) or Haringhuisje. When you walk further away from the coast, you get to the second harbour. Along the water are built some new buildings with a lot of restaurants inside, like Lemon Grass (Nouvelle Cuisine), Dagvisser (fish) and de Zoute Zoen (also fish). Rainbow is a funny restaurant in tropical forest atmosphere, which is nice for kids. Pasta company is one of the best italian restaurants of The Hague. My favourite place is Brouwcafe, where they have simple but good food, excelent beer and a wonderful view on the harbour from the sunny terrace. If you walk further along the second harbour to the yaughts at the end, you will see the old Visafslag (fishtrade) building with another group of restaurants inside. The first one is Dukdalf, the best but also most expensive fish restaurant in town. But there are also several cousy bars for sailors or yachtclubs.
Favorite Dish: Take something with fish: it's fresh!

Sea-U is a restaurant for a nice food & drink stop before going on a boat trip on the Northsea (or thereafter).

A nice cafe which is located in the Scheveningen boulevard, right infront of the Pier. It;s a nice place to have coffee, especially during the winter time.

We sat outside and despite being early in the season, the staff served us as if they could not wait for summer to arrive...cheerful and joking...without being irritating.
