Perrito Caliente: A very hot tapas bar
Mama Lucia is the bossin this little tapas bar located at a canal in the center of town. Friendly young employees serve a large variety of small and bigger tapas, with sometimes an unexpected extra dish. After dinner some extra pleasant moments with the locals at the bar. And in summer you can enjoy your meal on the boat in front of the restaurant
Favorite Dish: Gambas al Ajillo and the tiny beefsteak tops are super.
Le Jardin, Salon de Th?: Beautiful place with a gorgeous garden
During my rambles in Schiedam i was invited to have a cup of coffee in this place. And it is a beautiful place. I felt a little underdressed but hardly embarassed by it. It was unfortunately too cold yet to sit outside but i have seen the garden and it looks like an excellent spot to wile away a lazy afternoon in the sun enjoying a high tea. That is the specialty of the house. I didn't get any further then the coffee. My companion ordered tea and got a whole pot of hot water to fill up her glass when she wanted too...
Being invited to this place i have no clue about prices...
Favorite Dish: Open every tuesday till saturday from 11-17h and the first sunday of the month from 12-17h
If your with a group though you can call them and ask them if they could open the place up for you. Usually they will.
Restaurant "de Noordmolen": Seafood and ??
We haven't actually eaten here but when we walked through the restaurant during the National Mill Day we knew we had to come back here someday.
The restaurant had different levels were you can eat and drink, each level has it's own bar and style of tables.

Auberge Hosman Freres
Situated in the old part of Schiedam, the 500 year old house on the canal reeks of a longstanding tradition in trade.
The collection of calvados and cognac is famous. You can ask for a calvados from your birth year (if you can afford to!).
Difficult to park the car, but there is valetparking.
The restaurant (auberge) is on the first floor. On the ground floor there is the Bistro Hosman Frères: a less upmarket version.
