Liduinabasilic in Schiedam
This Church is also called "Singel Kerk" (Girdle Church) and was designed around 1800 by Everhardus Johannes Margrij which was born in Harderwijk and lived from 1841-1891.
E.J. Margrij was a student of famous dutch architect Petrus.J.H. Cuypers who lived from 1827 - 1921. The church is richly decorated and intensly renovated from 1994.
Low ground water
There was extensive damage to the foundation poles due to the temporarily lowering of the ground water. This was done during intensive building around the church.
The church got a new foundation, this time with concrete poles.
The many 19th century paintings where cleaned and restaured. Old pictures where used to reconstruct the original mosaic floors.
This basilic has a total length of 51 meters and is 30,5 meters wide. The height of the church is 22 meters, the towers is 60 meters high.

De Nieuwe Palmboom
It works as the Museum Windmill, info, visit up to the top and amazing landscape. It dates from 1781 but ws rebuilded in 1989-1992.
