Stir fried rice sticks with sea food.....yummy...

Latest news: They recently offer lunch meal, either rice or noodles at a reasonable price around euro6 per dish for lunch hour (12.00noon to 17.00). Do go for it.

This is a new restaurant in the heart of The Hague, part of chinatown.

The ambience is new and simple, but the dim sum that we tried were delicious.

In fact, so far this is the best made fresh dim sum that I have ever tasted in The Hague.

For dim sum lover, do give it a try.

Besides dim sum, of course they also have regular chinese meal like rice, mihoen and noodles, peking duck and etc.

Favorite Dish: Latest update: For those who want to give a try for a simple dish, be it a bowl of wantan noodles, or a plate of chinese fried rice (nasi), or bami, now they offer Euro6 per dish, for eat-in customers only.

Do go for a try, am sure you'd love it. We also enjoyed a 10% discounts on our total amount in our bill.

Eet smakelijk, bon appetite.

Definate those super delicious freshly made dim sum.

Easy to read and choose from a photos menu as well as normal a-la carte.

Would return to try other dishes besides dim sum real soon.

Latest update: Their dim-sum for lunch is with promotional price starting from Euro2.50 per dish.

Blueberries cheescake

It is a real simple cafe, where you are able to buy, eat-in, take-away or do an online order for your favourite american cheese cake.

Favorite Dish: We tried their home-made lemonade, it was super fresh and tasty.

Then we tried their imported Amazon Fusion/Flavoured ice tea in bottle, hm....it was tasty too.

We sampled their blueberries cheescake and white chocolate cheesecake. Both are tasty and creamy.

Would go for more for the next trip. There are a few types of cheesecakes available, also would like to go for chocolate fudge brownies.

Sumo Sushi & Grill Restaurant: Japanese Buffet

Modern interior and exterior.

Taste wise, better than their sister branch in Rotterdam.

Me and my friends has a pleasant buffet lunch here.

The fried rice is a bit too oily.

If you want to give it a try, do go for their special deal buffet price, as weekend price is much dearer/expensive.

Favorite Dish: Their tempura and yakitori are tasty, stir fried udon and miso soup is not bad at all.

Sushi are alright too.

A very popular place for hanging out for a cup of coffee or an Italian ice-creams.

It is an old Italian ice-cream cafe in The Hague, since 1911.

They have plenty flavour of italian ice-creams to choose from.

Favorite Dish: Definately their assortment of Italian ice-creams.

One more thing, they also make ice-cream cakes for special occasions.

Restaurant India Glory: Indian restaurant

Their tandoori chicken masala (chicken fillet) and their authentic chicken tandoori (drumsticks) are delicious.

They mainly offers home delivery service for euro1.50 (delivery cost) depends on which area around The Hague.

Yesterday we went for a take-away from this restaurant. We tried the chicken kahari and chicken tandoori in drumsticks. It was tasty and this time, it was cooked well.

Favorite Dish: This restaurant has been painted and renovated a bit. Looks better than the last time when we went for dining.

Restaurant Garoeda: Overpriced & Overrated
CALSF profile photo
CALSF 231 reviews

Restaurant Garoeda was recommended by a famous guidebook as well as our hotel. Surely the restaurant was packed with locals so we assumed it would be a fantastic restaurant to try the famed rijstaffel. We waited 30 minutes for a table that was supposed to have been reserved. What a disappointment this restaurant was in all aspects!

First of all the service is not professional. The manager and staff are just like any mediocre to below mediocre Asian restaurant in terms of service. Manager actually forgot to place our order so we waited an additional 20 minutes.

Worst was the overpriced and overrated food. It's a scam basically in our opinion. The menu lists a huge amount of items for one price (per person too mind you). So you believe you're getting a ton of food. Well, quite a few of the food items are stuff like 'sambal' (chili pepper sauce), 'prawn chips' which are not even freshly prepared but come from a snack bag it seems as ours were terribly stale. These items are not food per se but condiments and snack stuff yet it makes the menu card look extensive!

It would be fine if we paid an exorbitant sum per person and the food was first rate and had good value, however, we took the "Musim Panas" menu at euro 26.75 PER PERSON and what we ended up with was definitely something that should have not costed more than $25.00 USD TOTAL.

Perhaps Amsterdam would have been better for rijsttafel.

Favorite Dish: Nothing was good in our opinion.

Three chicken drumsticks supposedly cooked authtentically in some sort of coconut based sauce, all vegetables were not fresh but were either canned or frozen (string beans and corn that were cooked with diluted coconut milk), stewed pork meat that was similar to a Filipino adobo, and kebabs of tiny bits of pork, toppings that were indistinuishable as they only had a hard texture and were plain tasteless.

The locals seemed to love their meals. I personally believe that there is something that's lost in translation where they believe the high priced menus = authenticity. Granted this food is Indonesian, and we are used to getting fantastic, cheap Asian food at home in California, but just looking at the quality/quantity of food compared with the exorbitant cost per person they charge is just plainly a rip off no matter where one comes from.

Restaurant Ramsis: Unlimited spare ribs!!!

A small Egyptian grill house, eat unlimited spare ribs for just Euro9.95 per person.

Also serves grilled chicken, shoarma and mixed grill.

Favorite Dish: Tried the pork shoarma with grilled chicken fillet on skewer. Not too over powering marinated.

Also tried the unlimited grilled spare ribs. Quite nice and tasty.

Good for big eater, or else can't finished the big plate of food serves there.

C'est ça

Suzy's Soup & Salad
2 more images

C'est ça is a restaurant, beautifully located on the corner of the Palace Gardens. The interior is sleek and minimalist but very stylish with comfy chairs and an open fire. A place that reflects hospitability.
The restaurant is open for lunch and for dinner.
Closed on Monday and Tuesday.
The chef is an American lady, that's probably the reason why there were quite a few Americans having lunch while we were there.

Favorite Dish: We had a delicious lunch here: Suzy's Soup & Salad
For my husband a bowl of pumpkin soup with a goat cheese salad ;
for me a bowl of roasted tomato soup with a Chef's salad (roasted chicken).
Good dark bread came along with it.
Dessert was chocolate mousse.

Apparently this restaurant has changed owners since we were last here in 2007. The interior has also changed quite a bit as far as I can see on the pictures. It is obvious that I cannot guarantee that the quality of this restaurant and its food is the same as with the previous owners.

Restaurant Momiji: Japanese....
Rosey-K profile photo
Rosey-K 82 reviews

The interior in this restaurant is quite pretty with black tables and black benches and seats.

They have in fact extended their business lately, a much bigger space, of course with their pricey dishes....

The waitress who served us is not friendly nor helpful at all, as I went there with my friend who have her son in a buggy.

She suggested a small table in a small corner for the 3 of us....gosh....that is certainly too crowdy for 2 adults and a toddler.

We friend was shocked when she saw that I have a tempura ebi (deep fried prawns) served with 3 small pieces of deep fried asparagus as main course for the price of Euro16.50.

My friend thought I have ordered a starters instead of a lunch main meal!! It does not come with anything else, just 5 pieces of medium size prawns and 3 small pieces of chopped veg.

My friend ordered set meal of chicken terrayaki served with white rice and miso soup. She told me the miso soup tasted strange and the rice was just half portion. The chicken was a bit over cooked, so it tasted a bit dry.

As usual a cup of japanese green tea costs euro1.95, with no refill.

Favorite Dish: If you really wanted to try their food, I suggest that you read and look carefully in their menu and go for real japanese food like sushi, california roll etc, which charged per piece or a few selection on a mix place for euro10 onwards.

I would say this restaurant is a bit over-charged for their food prices, as it is not a real japanese culinair qualified japanese chic restaurant.
