SCHEVENINGEN is an old fisherharbour. This village is next to The Hague. The beach is very occupied along the boulevard, there is also the Pier, the big exclusive hotel 'Het Kurhaus', the shoppingcentre, and the casino.

    Scheveningen Beach

by danbachmann Updated Aug 24, 2002

Fireworks every Summer Friday night is 4th of July Dutch style. Rather than blow everything up on July 4th like we do in America, the fireworks are spread out through the entire Summer.
It's wonderful to have a good meal and flowers served to you right on the beach.
It seems all ages were in good health and spirits walking on the beach.

Kijkduin is one of the two seaside resorts of The Hague, established in 1923. (The other one is Scheveningen.)

Good weather and a trip to the coast, just about 15 minutes on the tram. So it's a busy resort, a walk along the pier, the promenade and then its time for lunch - not a bad day trip!

Very popular seaside resort. You can enjoy the promenade, visit the harbour and harbour museum, the lighthouse or have a nice meal in some of the restaurants.

    Scheveningen

What is Zandvoort for Amsterdam, Scheveningen is for Den Haag. Seaside resort full of casinos, restaurants and other spots (Aquarium, for example)...

    Kurhaus Scheveningen

Play Midget Golf, the mini version of golf in Westbroekpark in Scheveningen. Well I lost but it was fun still!! Nice park around there for a walk, too!

    Scheveningen Pier

Walk down the pier to get a great view of Scheveningen's seafront. There are also many shops, a restaurant and a casino here.

Flying a kite at Scheveningen beach

Go to the beach in Scheveningen, a seaside suburb of The Hague!

You will find a lovely beach and there even is a pier. We took a kite and it was great fun feeling like a kid again :-)

    Kijkduin

A very nice beach outside the city, don't miss it. This is where we began our tour after a short night sleep on the campground next to the beach and a good breakfast on the sand.

I really liked that face lying on the grass that we saw while leaving Scheveningen for Leiden after a short break on the beach.

The most famous bathingplace of The Hague is ofcourse Scheveningen. You find there a wide beach and cozy restaurants and shops and a large boulevard.

You can get very close to the living fish, you are even allowed to touch them.
Outside you can taste the 'maatjesharing'. Hold this raw fish by the tail and let it slowly slip in your mouth.
