Zomerterras is a cuultural event which has msic theater and comedy for 3 weekends in summer. So atleast one of the nights (friday and saturday) or day (sunday), there will be something for you.
If you are close to Vlaardingen during summer, make sure you won't miss out.

I don't know how popular Halloween is in Vlaardingen or the Netherlands. But what i do know is that two different neighbourhood society's has organised a Halloween party for the kids.
The one for our neighbourhood has been held a week early of the real halloween on october 19th 2003.
It started in the previous Shell Building at the van Hogendorplaan. At six o'clock the doors opened to the kids. And they got the chance to get painted as creeps, witches and more..
Around 19:30 the fanfare arrived for a walk through the neighbourhood. During this walk witches popped up with candy for the kids. People got out of their houses or watched from behind the windows to see the crowd walk by.
It was a succesfull night....next year again ??

A few weeks in a year there is a fair near the harbour, last time it was around Queensday and Liberation day. The fair isn't the largest one in the neigbourhood but if you live in Vlaardingen it's nearby.
During every period of the fair there's fireworks.
