When you've visited the city center of Vlaardingen or been at the fishery museum just walk along over the railway. You will then see a relativly new brug which is the last bridge in Vlaardingen before the Nieuwe Waterweg. Near this bridge you will see this monument with a ruler which displays the NAP (New Amsterdam Peil (level)). This monument has been placed here bij the dutch "rijkswaterstaat" the dutch departement which concerns itself with the river and roadways.
