Operating windmills, wooden houses, museums and workshops all this can be found in the village. It is a very popular tourist destination, and especially during the Summer season Zaanse Schans is very crowded. But if you’re there you may have a chance to see how wooden shoes are made, or how cheese is prepared, or how oil is made out of peanuts (too noisy experience though). It is easy to get there even if you don’t have a car, simply get a train ticket to the station called Koog Zaandijk, from there it is about 15-20 minutes walk. The capital city. Although packed with tourists, it still has its charm. A lot of people see the Red Lights District as a major attraction of the city, while it has much more to offer. Th most recommended spots: The Rijksmuseum, The Anne Frank house, The Heineken Factory, a cruise along the canals, The Royal Palace. Don't forget that this city has a great atmosphere and offers different types of tourist activities. Its tourism board works hard to introduce the tourist to its vibrant lifestyle. It is the city of canals, museums, events, music and entertainment and it changes every year surprising people with something new, unknown, and unexpected Leave a Comment

Unfortunatly the old centre from Rotterdam was entirely destroyed by bombs at the beginning of the Second World War, wich means that there is little of historic interest. But Rotterdam, the gateway to Europe as far as shipping is concerned, is a tourist must in spite of this. Leave a Comment
