For years now, the price of a litre Euro95 (unleaded) has been at the top end of € 1,40-€1,50 range. Belgium is cheaper, and France is cheaper still. Have a look at the website below to see the current petrol prices. Leave a Comment

They reckon there are half a million caravans in the Netherlands. And from June to September the Dutch clog the highways of Europe as they fan out from their relatively small kingdom and meander through France and Germany to Austria, Spain and Italy. Dutch caravans have even been spotted in Moldova (you mean, there was another tourist there at the time to do the spotting!?). A word of warning: don’t toot your horn at a Dutch caravan. However small the caravan, the owner is always well over six feet tall and built like a Dutch barge. Theme: Car/Motor Home

We of course get around in our little Smart - it has seen a lot of the country and is so easy to park in busy places, but public transport is good and you could of course use the Dutch way - bike! Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

Discover Holland by bike. It's really a pleasure. It's convinient and cycling is very safe because of perfect bike road net. It's very cheap. I paid for 6,50 for the whole day and was able to visit every corner I wanted to. You can visit the whole country by bike. If you have not enough time you can go by train and rent a bike in the city you want to visit. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

For those of you who are use to receiving free maps, don’t try at the Visitor Centers. As I understand the story, the once government centers are now privately ran. A local map town will cost 2 euros! However there is some good news, many hotels will give you a free copy of one for the town you are staying in. For other locations, you may wish to search the internet and print one. Of course you could always buy one and use it for a souvenir. ;-) Leave a Comment Theme: Other

If you buy your STRIPPENKAART, a public transport ticket, in advance, it is much cheaper! The system is a bit complicated: you have to know the amount of zones that you need, you add one, and you stamp it. Or, you ask the driver! You can buy the ticket in tobacco stores, post offices, railway and bus stations. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
