Gardermoen Airport (Airport Code: OSL) is the main international airport of Norway. A hub airport for SAS Scandinavian Airlines, the airport also is serviced by 27 other airlines, from Aeroflot to Widerøe.
To get to Oslo from Gardermoen Airport, you can use the train station co-located with the airport. You have the choice between the "Flytoget," a frequent, fast (about 25 minutes), and expensive train not covered by railpasses; or the NSB Federal Railways train, a less frequent, slower (about 40 minutes), and less expensive train covered by Eurail and Scanrail. Further complicating matters is that the two trains have separate ticket counters, and even separate monitors.
In addition to the trains, an Airport Bus departs every 15 minutes for Oslo, with a travel time of 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic. Taxis are a possibility, but quite an expensive one (NOK 600 and up).
One final note: Gardermoen Airport is not to be confused with Sandefjord/Torp Airport (Airport Code: TRP). The latter airport is a significant distance from Gardermoen; making a transfer between the two airports is time-consuming and not recommended.

The Airport Express train runs between the airport and Drammen, Asker, Sandvika, Lysaker, Skoyen, Nationaltheater, Oslo central station and Lillestrom. Departs every 10 minutes from Oslo Central Station and Oslo Airport Gardermoen, and every 20 minutes from Asker station. The train from the airport to Oslo Central Station takes 19 minutes in the speed of 210 km/h. The price is 220 NOK one way pr. passenger (35 USD). This is expensive! If you like it cheaper, take the airport bus or the slower train.

This inside tip is not official, but can be used if all other transportations have failed or are too expensive.
A transport service called Dalen Parkering provides airport shuttle service for the private parking areas and the hotels around Gardermoen. The mini buses pick up at the departure hall at the price of NOK 50,-, which is the cheapest way to get from the airport. Even though this transport service is for a pre-arranged route, you can try to contact them directly and ask to be dropped off another place.

I live close to the airport, work here and I am also a frequent traveller. Take my advice: NEVER GET INTO A TAXI BEFORE YOU KNOW THE PRICE. The taxi companies operate with different prices, and some of them are terrible expensive. Find alternative transport methods, like train or bus. Or let a friend pick you up at the airport.
If you have no other sollution than taxing a taxi from the airport, go to the taxi information desk in the arrival hall. They have information about the different companies’ fixed rates to different destinations in Norway. They can also book a taxi for you. The taxi rank is immediately outside the arrival hall. You can usually find a taxi from most taxi companies there.
The taxis are more expensive with more people in the car, and more expensive at nights and public holidays. Some of the taxi companies are cheaper FROM the airport and some are cheaper TO the airport. Also note that a short trip from the airport to Jessheim or some of the hotels in the area can be more than NOK 300,-. Another example, look at picture 2, it's a receipt from City Taxi: NOK 1738,- (290 USD) from Gardermoen airport to Oslo Centre. This was on a public holiday, but anyway - Don't let the taxi destroy your holiday with shocking prices.

The airport coach "SAS Flybussen" is the original airport coach, and maybe the most confident way to travel to and from the airport. An advantage is that the coaches are online with the airline computers and know if SAS flights are delayed, etc. It start at 0500 AM and drive until 0330 AM. The price is NOK 140. Cheaper price for children and retired persons. Also group discounts. The bus departs from the Radisson Scandinavia Hotel in Oslo and plattform 9 on the main busterminal in Schweigaards street.

The ordinary train from Oslo to Gardermoen airport takes about 30-35 minutes. But the trains are in most cases delayed. Don't take the ordinary train if you are in a hurry. The price is however nearly half the price of the express train.
