I´ve eaten at this restaurant on a couple of occasions, with colleagues (it was them who picked the restaurant). Was very disappointed by the dish I ordered. It was Fettuccini Diana, a chicken pasta with a slightly spicy cream sauce. The fettuccini were split in two! It seems they split the pasta, in two or three, before boiling it! A true sin!
Have eaten at many restaurants in many countries, and had never seen this. It didn´t taste bad, just OK, but for the price (around 25 USD for that dish only) was very disappointed.
Another thing, usually for this chicken pasta it is chicken breast cut in stripes that should be used, but in this dish, I noticed that they hadn´t used the breast, but other parts of the chicken (probably from the leg and thigh, cut in cubes), which I didn´t like.

Nice surroundings, situated at the quay in the guest harbour, but open for anyone. Large outdoor area. Just a few hundred meters from the guesthouse where we stayed it was perfect for a lazy breakfast.

Big Hprn has several steak houses around Norway. I am not particularly fond of american food, but we wanted steak and it was close to where we stayed.
The food was nothing special, the ambient OK and the service excellent: They were out of the dessert my son wanted; he got another one for free. I like the ordering system: You write down your table number, how you want your steak done and what kind of potatoes and vegetables you want.
Prices depend on the size of your steak, the price below is for me, who is not a big eater!
Opening hours: Monday - Saturday 11.00 - 24.00
Sundays 14.00 - 22.00

Big Horm Steak House is a derivation from some Norwegian notion of what American steaks are like. Plus more - not only for well-fanged people...
Big Horn is a restaurant chains, so one is like the other, more or less. The food is generally good and well prepared and presented.
The menu comes with a pen and x-word style paper slip to fill in to detail your choices. Causes much hilarity. Anyway, in this way you can get your food with the type of contents and balance between ingredients that you like.
Favorite Dish: Mexican pepper steak (anyone in Mexico heard about that???), and the salad bar. Didn't have dessert in Arendal's version of Big Horn.

One of the thrre best in town, but with a more local atmosphere than the two others, and without the hotel stiffness. This is a local outfit, and people come for beer, a snack and live music. But here is also some fantastic food varying from luxury to "common" snacks.
Favorite Dish: Mme. Reiersens fish soupo for a starter.
The fried redfish or the steamed wolf fish as main dish.
Definitely.
And the apple pie for dessert.

Hope this place picks up in the summer season, because the location and layout was good for a small Italian restaurant.
It seemed more like a rough bar when I was there, and nobody eating.
Did not eat here, as the clientele didn't look too steady and the sisters were nowhere to be seen. Hidden agenda??? ...but at some other point in history I will come back, because the menu was good on the Italian side and plenty of maritime stuff to have here also. Prices were fine for such a place.
Favorite Dish: I generally like pasta and sea food combinations and there were some of those on the menu...

It is lovely sitting at one of the outdoor cafés alongside the quay on a warm summer day enjoying a cold ... something. One of them has a really good smoothie of mixed berries :-)
