In Drammen underneath Norways longest bridge the Drammensbrua (E18) lies Betongparken. That is a new skateboard park built in concrete. The park is clean and it has a lot of benches where you can sit and watch or simply take a break.

Spiraltoppen is the name of the area at the top of the Spiralen. It offeres a marvellous view of the city, the river, the fjord and the mountainous areas of Kongsberg and Numedal. You can also find a Cocherill cannon from 1904.

Spiralen is a mountain tunnel in Bragernesåsen, opened in 1961 when Drammen celebrated its 150th anniversary. With six spirals, the tunnel goes through rocks ending at Breidablikk. The tunnel is 1650 metres long, 9 metres wide and originally had a height of 3.1 metres but it was extended later and today also large. The rise is from 20 to 213 metres above sea level and each spiral has a 70 metre diameter.
The city engineer Eivind Olsen gave the idea that the quarry, used ti provide road construction with materials, could be developed into a spiral tunnel up through Bragernesåsen and this work commenced in 1953 after 70,000 cubic metres of rock had been blasted off.

Bragernes Market is the largest in Norway and also Drammen's “front parlour”. The square market was laid out in 1866 when a fire had reduced 388 buildings to ashes. There are some shopping facilities round the square and several restaurants. From the city bridge, you have a fine view of Drammen's well-known townscape including the market square, the tower buildings and the magnificent Bragernes Church from 1871.

Inspect the beautiful architecture of this 1870s building. The theatre burned down in 1993, but was soon reconstructed. The rebuilding work was so flawless that it won the Europa Nostra award in 1997.

You must drive up the Spiral and see the fantastic view over Drammen and the Eikerbygdene.
You also must see the museumpart 10 min.walk from the parking up there. They have rebilded a tiny part of Numedal, a little place off the beaten path
Then you ought to take a boat trip up the river and see the town from that angel.
There is also a nice museum on the Stroemsoe side.
Up at Konnerud there are some old caves Konnerudgruvene),that you should visit.
Gulskogen gaard is also worth visiting. It is a lovely park there too.

Bragernes Church was erected in a new gothic style. It was consecrated on 12 July 1871. It has got a very nice altarpiece with the Resurrection painted by Adolph Tidemand.

The Fire Station was designed by the city engineer Heyerdahl in the mixed style of the time (about 1870), and was naturally given a tower to dry the fire hoses.
