I just want to inform, that if you want to go cross country skiing at Gravset, there is no ski bus going up there anymore. You have to go there by car (or taxi). It is indeed a very nice area for cross country skiing with beautiful views. Also possible to go there in the evening, cause some of the tracks are lit until 10 pm.more
at Gravset its great to go crosscountryif u dont have a car there is a ski bus to take u there from the villagethis place have diffrent slopes from 2 km to 20 km , some is easy and some are a bit harder with hills etcthe prep the slopes often , and there is a map on each "cross road" so its not that easy to get lost :-)bring some food, chocolate...more

There are basically two ways to travel to Hemsedal. You either go there by car, (3-4 hours) or by bus, (Norway bussekspress) from Oslo bussterminal (galleriet) 3-4 hours a stop includes.If you dont want to use 6 hours from Oslo til Hemsedal because of queue, try to avoid travelling from Oslo at 4 pm in the busy season. Just got back from another fun 1st of may festival in hemsedal. As always it was sun sun and sun and fun in the snow.
Its been less snow this year but still the slope was good, they prep they well here and in the bottom they had concerts all day saturday. Its a perfect ending of the season....music sun and snow . Lets hope next season getting as good as this one :-)))
On our way to Hemsedal we ended up in a car line. We were told that a family had collided with an elk. the glas in the front was broken and the the ambulance was there to bring them to the hospital. Hopefully they had no fysical damages. The big Elk was hurt and was shoot while we were there. We also got a chance to take a look at this big thing, but mye pictures were not good.
So you should be extremely careful when driving in the night. And why cant the elks use a refleks?
