2 minutes before you arrive in Kongsberg along the E134 from the east you will have Aas kafeteria on the left side. this place have been a landmark in the Kongsberg area for decades.
The food here is average norwegian kafeteria food at average prices.
In the future the place is threathened by a new road route for E134 into Kongsberg.
They have plans for a tunnel underneath the cafe.

I passed by this small cafeteria on the way from Oslo to Kongsberg and I made a short stop only in order to take a photo of this Cafeteria with a strange and funny name - at least when you speak german !
Aas is obviously a family-name in Norwegian, in german it means carcass or carrion, so this was the reason for me NOT to eat there anything, although the place looked quite nice !
b.t.w. in Danmark I often passed by a so-called "Fartcontrol"
Scandinavian languages are quite funny sometimes !

In Houston, Texas, (USA) Chinese restaurants are everywhere. I was almost astounded to find one in Kongsberg, Norway. I was pleasantly surprised by everything, and disappointed by nothing. The establishment is not large by US standards, but it is a very comfortable place to have a meal. The young man who waited on me spoke English adequately for perfect communication. The asian-themed Muzak was pleasant. The service was punctual. Several locals came in for take-out during my meal - always a good sign. I did not order anything adventurous - just beef & lamb on skewers & chicken w/ mushrooms. It was a good meal with plenty for later. If you are looking for a comfortable & quiet place I recommend Kong's Kina.
Favorite Dish: Only ate here this once. If I go back I'll get a little braver and revisit this tip.
