Kaffegalleriet: Warm your tummy in the Arctic winter

Centrally located, and offering a great variety of warm drinks, you will never freeze at Kaffegalleriet, even when it's -40C outside. Unless, of course, you order a milkshake. But no matter what you buy, you will not regret it!

Favorite Dish: Hot chocolate. But that's because I'm trying to quit drinking coffee... oh, heck, I'll have another cup of that espresso!

Maybe the food (they were serving pizza as far as I remember) is not the best you've ever tried, but the place is definitely worth more than one visit: this is the best place in Kautokeino to meet the locals and make friends!

Alfreds Kro: Big taste, big price!

The place is something between a café and a restaurant, with traditional wooden café interior that makes for an excellent atmosphere. The dishes I have tried so far have been excellently prepared, the steak was made to perfection, exactly the way I like it. Alas, the price tag for a good meal reflects the quality of the chef's craft.

The daytime menu offers more traditional junk food, however, and at 90 crowns for a hamburger plate (i.e. with fries and salad) puts the junk food section in the same price class as any other café in Norway.

Favorite Dish: So far the pepper steak, but I hear that the pizza is pretty good.
