Favorite thing: Around the new community created around the LNG plant a nice family is growing... a family of foxes... They were just playing around people (sometime at only 2 meters) and the food was coming so easy.
I was sure that was only one fox but after a year I have seen together the all "heard"... If you like animals you will enjoy for sure the real wild foxes from my photos.

Favorite thing: During the summer time, the Reindeers are fleeding in Hamerfest.
Despite of their beauty they have been considered a plague for the city due to the fact that they are eating all the vegetation, including the flowers in the court yards.
The comunity built a fence against the animals which is surounding the city just in order to protect the people. 2007 was first year "after the fence" and all the system seems to be useless.
Fondest memory: I am not 100 % sure that the reindeers are not attacking people. Being alone in the mountains I have seen some young stags and they haven't been so scared about my presence. I have rather preferred to change my way instead of checking their relation with the humans:)

Favorite thing: This region is just wonderful from the landscape point of view, I can surely say the most beautiful land area I ever saw in my life, so, if you ever visit Scandinavia and have the time and the money, try to make it to the north of Norway.

Favorite thing: ... well, actually you shouldn't go there: To the North Cape! I know, it's always the goal of every travellers going up to Northern Norway, but I can tell you, you will be dissappointed about it and by the way: It's really expensive! And all you will see is a huge parking area, one small tourist shop and a view out of the sea which you can get mainly everywhere at the coast in Norway.
Think about it, you can spend your money in a better way - go and visit Alta, a nice town southern of the North Cape, or you visit one of the North Cape islands which are really beautiflu too and you don't even have to pay to get there...

Favorite thing: It's a small village - so you won't find all the luxury and choices you expect from other places. But if you're there in the summer times, you will experience the midnight sun - and it's worth going there only cause of that!
What else? Go fishing, if you are lucky you can go with one of the numerous fishing boats and experience the life of a Norwegian fishing man - an interesting adventure!
