Koppang

by Maria_75

Koppang is a town in the Hedmark county. Situated in the southeastern Norway, about 2.5 hours drive from Oslo.Make a stop and visit Koppangtunet, a selection of old, typical houses from the area. It was finished in 1975. Today you can sleep in many of the houses, and there is a restaurant there too.Read more at my Koppang page.

Situated in the southeastern part of the country, about 2 hours drive north from Oslo. This is the starting point for Birkebeineren, a long-distance race held every year in Norway. In winter it is a crosscountry race, in autumn a bike race and crosscountry running race. The route is 54 km long and starts in Rena, before it heads over the mountains to Lillehammer.Read more at my Rena page.

Sjusjøen Skiing Centre

by Saagar

Sjusjøen in Ringsaker municipality (logically and transport-wise connected to Lillehammer in the neighbourign Oppland County...) has a brand new downhill skiing and playing area. The vertical drop is 250 metres and is suitable for beginners, children, families and youngsters. Bone fide skiers would search for longer drops and steeper slopes elsewhere. Good for fun, though. Good cafeterie, restaurant options and other service functions. Moreover, the place (on top) has one of the best viewpoints in southern Norway. From the top you can survey an area the size of Belgium.
