Favorite thing: I found the old building beautiful and interesting. They are all around, in the city centre, in the Brygeen and even when getting further up the hill to the Floyen direction. So I added here few examples.

    Vetrlidsallmenningen

Favorite thing: Although I have no idea how to pronounce it, this is Vertlidsallmenningen... It is another nice area in Bergen that we came across while wandering the streets...it is located near the Funicular station...

    Wooden Alley

Favorite thing: It doesnt looks like it but it is possible to walk this small alley to the other end and find yourself in the next street. The floor is made of wood as are the houses. This alley contained a restaurant somewhat halfway.

    Old Bergen outdoor museum

Favorite thing: I will be re-modeling these pages to fit the new VT....

Bergen is known as "The city between the seven mountains", and "gateway to the fjords". We don’t have tall mountains like the Alps, but nothing can beat the fjords. You have to see it to believe it. It’s like seeing the Grand Canyon on a picture and actually being there. It’s not the same. Just to make a point; Bergen is one of the most visited ports in Europe by cruise boats.

    Fondest memory: The people.

Favorite thing: The older part of Bergen is worth seeing. Little old houses of wood. Ask around and you will be pointed in the right direction. If you want to study it closer, you should go to the outdoor museum 'Gamle byen' (The old town).

  • ... walk around the Old Town,...

Favorite thing: ... walk around the Old Town, Bryggen, once the working centre of the Hanseatic merchants. It's a experience itself to walk around in its old, steep alleys with its colorful houses. And even if it's raining, the whole town creates such an impressive atmosphere that you smile as if the sun were shining... :)

Favorite thing: When visiting Bergen there are a lot of things to see in and around Bergen. I will try to build travelogues of the different areas. The first one is in place and covers Nordnes.
