This is a view of the city of Bergen from the top of Mount Floyen...there are some great views up there...I totally recommend it!
It was quite windy when we were up there though, enough that I even felt like I would be blown off the edge of the platform. ;) I'd recommend you take a good jacket to break the cold wind.
Favorite thing: You can see the whole city from the top of one of the seven mountains surrounding Bergen and the way you get there is also kind of interesting. The Fløibanen takes you up the mountain (it's a type of railcar that's angled up the side of the mountain) to an overlook of the entire city and the other mountains. At the top there's also a restaurant and some gift shops. And a gigantic troll (see photo). These trolls are everywhere in Sweden and Norway, but moreso in Norway. They're in books, calendars, figurines, pens, anything you can imagine.
Favorite thing: just a short walk from the bryggen, is the terminal for the Fløibanen, funicular railway (every 30min; 30kr return) that runs up to the top of Mount Fløyen(one of seven hills), where there are panoramic views over the city. there are some good walks mapped out through wooded areas around the hilltop...
take the funicular and go down walking.
Excellent views and nice trip.
Fondest memory: Walking in the darkness through historical (s.XII) buildings... alone.
Caminando en la oscuridad, entre edificios del siglo XIII solo... y en la parte de afuera de una iglesia, entre las tumbas.
Walk in the darkeness through the church between tumbs.
PICT: View from the mountain.

Favorite thing: Go with the funicular up Fløyen to get a fantastic view over the city! You can also take the cable car up to Ulrikken.
