The 170 km long Hardanger Fjord is the second longest of the Norwegian fjords. The fjord divides in about 20 smaller fjords and changes names all the time. Sørfjorden and Eidfjorden are the best-known parts of the fjord. The sceneries around the Hardanger Fjord change between fjord and mountains, dramatic waterfalls and glaciers, romantic fruit gardens and green fields. Many painters, writers and composers have found their inspiration in this marvellous scenery.
