There are many places to purchase sweaters in Bergen and the Fish market is actually the best place. Be careful of the shop at the end of the wharf that sells windstop sweaters. These are designed in Norway and made in Singapore. They are not authentic. There is no law on labeling source like in the US but if you ask the sales clerk they will be honest.
Fun Alternatives: Handmade sweaters are hard to find but if you ask the inn keeper where you are staying or the tourist office they can direct you there. These will be pricey. For a great deal go to the fish market. The lower overhead of working from a stall shows on the sticker price.
The souvenirs might be made in Taiwan! But look around and you might find something genuine. The wool-wear is popular, but expensive.
You can find souveniers at the market by the harbour and in shops nearby.
Seems like one of the most popular souveniers is a figure of a troll. The cheap ones are in plastic, but you can also get more expencive ones handcarved in wood.
