    The king of Norwegian waterfalls, Voringfossen, is 181 m high. If you look at it from above from the special platform near the Fossli Hotel, where you must pay NOK 20 to park your car, the camera can't take it all in and the grandeur of the place is lost. You can get a much better view of it from a parking lot situated near Road 7 a few hairpin bends below going in the westerly direction. Or perhaps you should see both the views to compare. Note how small the hotel at the top is in comparison with the cliff it sits on. There are souvenir shops and restaurants (the hotel one rather posh) in both places.

    The Vøringfossen is probably the most known waterfall of Norway. Just northwest of Harddangervidda on road 7 from Geilo to Eidfjord.
    For the nicest total view on this waterfall you have to take the sideroad to the Fossli Hotel. The Fossli Hotel has a large Parking Area, which unfortunately costs you NOK 20,-. But than again it gives you the best view of Vøringfossen and Måbødalen.

    Here road 7 gets down to sealevel or fjordlevel if you like. The Highland of Hardangervidda stops here and trough several hairpins the road gets down to the Fjords.
