Ryanair has made Hordaland county much more accessible by air due to their flights to the city of Haugesund a short hop south of Bergen. Cheap rates makes it possible to scan around for a weekend or so and then skip back to UK for sane price leves on food and beer again...The regional tourist authority Hordaland Reiseliv are beginning to get the point and has now established a visitor program called car walks. Based on own or rental cars various length self-drives around Hordaland that can be combined with some excellent sightseeing and short hikes-opportunities, about 1-3 hrs hikes. Not a package deal, it's an opportunity mapping that is real good. Get to Bergen og Haugesund or whereever, get a car and make your own fulfilling itinerary...
